2026 Rising Star Award

This award is given to an up-and-coming member of the Greater Cincinnati SMPS Chapter who is making the most of their SMPS membership to grow professionally and benefit his/her firm. Self nominations and nominations from nonmembers are encouraged. The award will be presented during the Greater Cincinnati SMPS Annual Meeting.

The winner of the Rising Star Award will receive an award, a $35 dollar donation to the SMPS Foundation in his or her name, and a $250 scholarship of their choice towards either:

Earning the CPSM certification (if eligible)
Attending Amplify AEC (SMPS National Conference) or an SMPS Regional Conference

Eligibility
Nominee must:

Be an employee/owner of a company whose practice focuses on the built environment
Be a current member of GCSMPS and has been a member for two years or fewer
Not be a 2025-2026 GCSMPS Board Member

Judging Criteria and Scoring
Selection shall be based on the following criteria:

Demonstrated professional growth in marketing and the AEC industry
Ability to relay lessons learned through SMPS to benefit his/her firm
Participation in SMPS through events, programs, committees and/or other contributions

Criteria Points

Professional Growth as a Marketer 30
Relay Lessons Learned to Firm 30
Participation in SMPS 40
Total 100

Judges from outside the chapter will evaluate the awards based on the above criteria. Judges will be assembled for their expertise in areas of marketing, communications and the AEC industry as a whole.

If self-nominating, please include a letter of recommendation from a principal/executive at your firm. Alternatively, you may submit a letter from a colleague in a leadership position within SMPS, a similar AEC industry organization, or a marketing organi

The Qualifying Statement should describe how the nominee meets/exceeds all of the award criteria. Specific examples should be given. No additional documents are permitted, though graphics, quotes and call-outs can be used within the two pages.
